It’s a brisk February morning in North Carolina, and as I cozy up with a warm cup of tea, the sunlight streaming through my windows fills me with excitement about all the wonderful opportunities awaiting our pickleball community in 2025!

Reflecting on this past year during the quiet of winter, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible group of women I’ve met through Courts & Couture. What began as a fun project for a few of us to grab our paddles and escape the everyday has blossomed into the most delightful community of women who cherish each other just as much as they cherish pickleball.

Our word of the month at Courts & Couture is “LOVE,” and it couldn’t be more fitting! Mendy and I adore being part of this group of ladies, and we’re buzzing with excitement over the fun surprises we have in store for you! But before we dive into what’s ahead, let’s take a moment to look back at where this extraordinary sport has taken us and just how deeply we’ve fallen in love with our community.

It all started a few years ago at Lifetime Fitness, where Mendy was looking to add a little zest to her fitness routine and stumbled upon pickleball. It was love at first serve! What was intended to be just another workout quickly turned into endless hours of laughter, play, and the forging of new friendships on the pickleball courts.

As her passion for the game grew, Mendy shared her enthusiasm with me. Together, we dreamed up creative ways to bring women together under the umbrella of pickleball, mixing a little bit of luxury with a whole lot of fun. That’s how Courts & Couture was born!

Mendy’s connection with our beloved pro, Hailee Haymore, led us to Hailee’s charming hometown of Pinehurst. Wandering the historic streets, we envisioned a getaway centered in this quaint village—the perfect backdrop for our retreats.

A Magical Retreat Experience

Imagine staying in a gorgeous, historic home in Pinehurst, clinking glasses of bubbly, and playing lots of pickleball. That dream became a reality!

Our inaugural Courts & Couture retreat was nothing short of magical. It wasn’t just about mastering the dink shot or acing the serve; it was about savoring delicious meals, reveling in surprise swag, and nurturing sweet friendships. From pink linens to fresh flowers, every detail added a sprinkle of our signature sparkle.

The connections we made were incredible, like Estela, who raved about the professionalism and down-to-earth nature of the coaches, or Katherine, who cherished connecting with new friends. Since then, our community has grown, extending beyond the courts into brunches, knitting sessions, and even mahjong game nights.
